Welcome to the May issue of MZINE
our free monthly newsletter!

This month we take a look at our exciting new online training website, which was setup in conjunction with EFET.  To celebrate "its launch" Derek has come up with another of his fantastic cartoons.

Our training courses continue through the summer and we have for you a one day UK Gas Trading & Risk Management course to look at if that is of interest to you.

MJMEnergy training goes online !

MJMEnergy has taken a major step with the launch of our first online training package. In the Autumn of 2008 EFET (the European Federation of Energy Traders) commissioned MJMEnergy to develop a specialist online Back Office Training Programme. Working in collaboration with an EFET review group drawn from RBSSempra, Total, Vattenfall, RWE and Electrabel, MJMEnergy launched the BOTP on EFET’s 10th Anniversary, 22nd April 2009.

Online training offers many advantages to companies, it’s flexible, available at any time, and can be tailored to meet customer requirements. It’s efficient, leading to less time out of the office and lower travel costs, and it can be a highly cost-effective means of delivering high quality training material. It also supports internal learning and development tracking, and provides links to further resources.

7th July UK Gas Markets Gas markets throughout Europe are undergoing significant changes as liberalisation and competition emerge. The UK has the most liberalised gas market in the world, and has seen almost continual change and development from 1990 to the present day, with further changes expected due to ongoing market evolution and the forecast UK gas gap.
8th July UK Electricity Markets The UK electricity market introduction one-day seminar provides an up-to-date overview of all the key factors and trends in this fast-moving market.
9th July Network Code The Network Code course is an essential introduction to the contractual framework of the UK gas market, and enables delegates to understand the concepts and practicalities of gas market operations in Britain.
8th Sep UK Gas & Power This one-day course provides a clear overview of the UK gas and electricity industries and is an ideal introduction for staff without a background in the energy sector. The course addresses the basic principles and key commercial realities of the UK energy markets.
9th Sep Gas Storage As the UK and Europe as a whole become increasingly dependent on gas imports and as trading markets develop, gas storage is becoming an increasing important tool for players in the liberalising markets of the UK and Europe.  This one-day course provides an overview of the key issues in gas storage.

All MJMEnergy public courses now qualify for CPD credit from The Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers, as well as the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority and potential ICAEW approval for accountants.
