An overview of Iran’s Energy Industry, and the complexities of exporting LNG from South Pars
This month we take an insight into the
topical subject of the Iranian energy industry, the
politics which surround it, and a more detailed
look into Iran’s endeavours to export gas
from South Pars.
Much the same as the previous 40 years, the structure and success of the Iranian economy continues to be determined by the hydrocarbon market and Iran’s reliance on oil. As it stands the oil sector contributes 10-20% of nominal GDP whilst oil exports revenue provide 80-85% of Iran’s export earnings .
